What a crazy winter we have had so far!
Our family lives within the Portland city limits, so my sons are in the Portland Public School District. And for PPS the students only had about 6 days of school within a month span of time. We did have Winter Break this span of time as well. But a a little under 2 week break ended up being just about 4 weeks.
Evidently this was a very unusual winter for Portland as they usually don't get 3 large snow storms, maybe just a dusting with some freezing rain. But outside my door, on the third snow storm, we had 12-14 inches.
The boys were in heaven with all the snow days and all the extra play they got. As a Photographer, and a stay at home mom, I was feeling the cabin fever! But on one week day we were blessed to have my husband stay home from work and have his own snow day. So we got suited up in our snow gear and went sledding. We even asked a friend to come join us, who lives right around the corner.
We had so much fun. The boys were showing no fear. We walked over to the park right next to my sons school, which has the best sledding hills all the way around the park. They slid down over and over again, had a snow ball fight, and we built a wonderful little snow man. But it wasn’t just the boys having fun, we were all sledding and being kids right along side them.
It was the perfect family snow day and I wanted to share some of the fun that we had that day with you.
