There are several things that you want to keep in mind when looking for a photographer. And I wanted to take some time and truly look into them. I have a feeling that there will be more then one post, but if you take the time to read and truly think about them, you will save time, money, stress and even pain.
Once you have that thought, “it would be nice to have professional photos done”, you need to stop and think about what you are wanting in the long run. You have to ask yourself, “what is your end game?”. Are you wanting to fill a blank wall with wonderful images of your family, are you wanting to capture your beautiful blessings and make an album that will last years, or are you wanting to make a special gift for your family members. What ever your desires are make sure you know before you even start looking. Knowing this will help you sort through the different styles of photography and allow you to meet your photographer already having a plan started.
As a photographer I love it when someone already knows what they want. I am able to truly plan my art and photo session for and around my client knowing exactly what they want and not waisting any of their time. I am also able to capture my client truly as they are instead of molding them into what I want.
It might seem a little out of order, but knowing what you want would even allow you to even have a pre-ordering session. I know how crazy that seems, but just think; you have a wall that you want images for, or maybe even a large canvas that would take up a large part of that wall. You tell you photographer exactly what you want and they are then able to take that information and plan your photo session perfectly knowing the exact shots that you are wanting.
Once the photo-session is over and its time for the ordering session, your photographer would be able to come showing the shots they have for the exact need and desire you came to them with. Your time would be cut in half and it would take out a lot of the guess work that goes on for the photographer and the client. Now if you wanted to add onto the order because you saw other images that you had to have your photographer would love to do that for you, even if you come back to them on another date.
But I truly think that both sides would have clarity and less stress, if you knew exactly what you wanted before you even met with the photographer.
I am excited to share the other important things to keep in mind when looking and meeting your photographer. Subscribe to my blog and you wont miss out and you will see my work that is to come in the coming weeks.
